Pulsed Media Free Bonus Disk Policy

The bonus on Pulsed Media (long known as bonus disk) is earned storage that's added on top of your paid plan, computed from your tenure and payment history. The same bonus percent also raises your account's disk priority, up to the top level, so when the server's disks are busy your account gets a larger share; disk priority explains how that sharing works. As of May 2026, the bonus is applied at provisioning time — your full earned bonus appears on first login, with no waiting period.

Stay with us a few years and your earned bonus can exceed your paid plan. The cap is 300%, so a 1 TB plan can compound to 4 TB. Past 100% bonus is a regular outcome of formula compounding over years, not an outlier.

At a glance

The longer you stay, the more you've paid, the more credit you hold, the more services you run, the more products you mix, and the more friends you refer — the more free storage you earn. When the bonus is applied

At provisioning (new services)

When you provision a new seedbox or storage box, the bonus your account history has earned is computed from your billing record and applied immediately. The new service comes online with your full base quota plus your earned bonus. You see the full quota on first login.

At purchase (storage upgrades)

When you buy extra disk through your control panel, the upgraded quota is live the moment the order clears. No delay, no waiting cycle.

At migration (server moves we initiate)

When we move a service between servers, the new server provisions with your full earned bonus already applied, the same as a fresh provisioning event.

Existing services

Services you already have continue to receive bonus through ongoing maintenance. Top-ups are best effort, with no fixed date. The top-up sweep works through the customer base in rounds: a given service typically gets its next pass every few days, and each pass raises it to your current earned figure when the server has the free capacity for it. PM-initiated migrations apply your full at-provisioning bonus on the new server.

The sweep only ever adds. If your earned percentage drops (credit spent on invoices, a cancelled service, a policy change), the bonus already applied to a running service is not reduced. Your service page shows the earned figure, so it can read lower than the disk you already have.

How the bonus is computed

The core tenure and payment formula has run since 2022, expanded in May 2026 with engagement-based mechanisms that reward customers who pay with crypto, hold multiple services, hold several different products, and refer others. The October 2026 update added account credit and contributions.

Tenure

+0.5% per month each service has been active
+0.1% per month since your billing profile was created

Payments and credit

+1% per €75 paid (lifetime, minus transaction fees). The step moved from €50 to €62.50 in September 2022, and to €75 in October 2026.
+1% per €300 of credit on your account, up to +20%. Credit counts while it sits on the account; as invoices use it, this part shrinks.
−1% per €5 in refunds

Contributions

When we recognise a customer's contribution to our software with account credit, that recognition also adds bonus disk, up to +20%. This part is permanent: it does not shrink when the credit is spent. The account owner sees it as its own line in the bonus breakdown on the service page.

Engagement (added May 2026)

−1% per €15 in payment processor fees you've incurred — paying with crypto avoids these fees entirely, so crypto payers carry no fee penalty
+2.5% per currently-active customer you've referred, up to +20%
+2.5% per additional active service beyond your first, up to +25% (ten extra services)
+5% per additional distinct product beyond your first, up to +15% (three extra products). Two different plans count as two products, for example a seedbox plan and a storage box plan.
+0.5% per past service of yours that ran 180+ days from signup and was past Pending/Fraud at any point — rewards depth of service history
+10% (one-time bonus contribution) if you have any active service that signed up via a referral link — the referee-side counterpart: the friend who joins earns a flat +10%, while the referrer earns +2.5% per active referral up to +20%

Total capped at +300%

The bonus reflects your account-level history, not just the individual service. If you have multiple services with us, each one earns bonus independently from your shared payment history and account tenure. A new service started today by a long-tenure account gets the full earned bonus on day one — it does not start at zero.

Worked examples

New customer, day 1: starts at 0% bonus. Bonus accrues over time.

Multi-service example: 3 seedboxes for 2 years at €10/month each. Each seedbox earns:

14.4% from time alone (24 months × 0.5% + 24 months × 0.1%)
9.6% from payments (€720 paid ÷ €75, counted account-wide)
+5% from extra services ((3 − 1) × 2.5%)
Total: ~29% bonus per service
On a 1 TB base, that is ~290 GiB of bonus per seedbox.

Long-tenure prepaid example: signup for 5 services at €30/month each, 3 years prepaid:

Day 1 signup bonus per service: 82% (72% from €5,400 prepaid, plus 10% from extra services)
End of 3-year term: ~104% per service (adds 21.6% tenure: 36 × 0.5% service + 36 × 0.1% customer)
On an 8 TB plan, that is ~6.6 TB of bonus per service on day 1, growing to ~8.3 TB by end of term.

Account credit example: €600 of unspent credit on the account adds 600 ÷ 300 = +2% to every service. Once invoices have used the credit up, that part of the earned figure is gone again, but bonus already applied to a running service stays.

Crypto vs card example (May 2026 mechanism): two customers each paid €1,000 over four years, same tenure. One paid with crypto (no processor fees), the other via card/PayPal (~€40 in fees):

Crypto customer: no fee penalty
Card customer: −€40 ÷ €15 = −2.67% from the processor-fee component
On a 1 TB base, that is ~27 GiB less bonus disk for the card customer — crypto keeps more of your storage

Engagement example: a customer with 5 active services on 5 different products, plus 8 active referrals:

Service count: (5 − 1) × 2.5% = +10%
Distinct products: (5 − 1) × 5% = 20%, held at the +15% cap
Referrals: 8 × 2.5% = +20% (at the +20% cap)
Total +45% on top of their tenure and payment bonus

Service-history and referee-link example (late May 2026 additions): a customer who joined via a friend's affiliate link, currently runs 2 active services, and has previously held 8 other services (all crossed 180 days):

Past-service history: 10 lifetime services ≥180 days × 0.5% = +5.0%
Referee-link bonus: +10.0% (binary — any one active referred service triggers it)
Total +15% from these two terms alone, on top of tenure, payments, and other engagement bonuses

Full-engagement example: a 4-year customer holding three active services on three distinct products — an M10G L Seedbox (active 36 months), a 4 TB Storage Box (active 18 months), and a Dragon-R Toruk (active 6 months). Lifetime spend €1,800, mostly in crypto with ~€200 via card (~€13 in fees). 2 active referrals.

For their Storage Box specifically:

Service tenure: 18 × 0.5% = +9.0%
Customer tenure: 48 × 0.1% = +4.8%
Payments: €1,800 ÷ €75 = +24.0%
Card fees: −€13 ÷ €15 = −0.87%
Extra services: (3 − 1) × 2.5% = +5.0%
Distinct products: (3 − 1) × 5% = +10.0%
Referrals: 2 × 2.5% = +5.0%
Total: ~56.9% bonus
On a 4 TB base plan, that is +2.3 TB of bonus → 6.3 TB total quota, applied at provisioning.

The 36-month Seedbox on the same account inherits the same account-level terms (payments, fees, extras, products, referrals) and adds its own higher service-tenure component (36 × 0.5% = 18%), reaching ~65.9% — about 675 GiB of bonus on a 1 TB M10G L base. All delivered before first login, no waiting.

What does not count toward the bonus

The bonus is calculated on your base plan only. Storage upgrades you purchase are added to your quota separately — they do not multiply through the bonus formula. (We may revisit this in a future update.)

Migrations and resets

PM-initiated migrations re-apply your bonus: the new server provisions with your full earned bonus under the current formula. That figure can be lower than the bonus an older service had built up, for example on accounts above the service-count or product caps.

A plan change you initiate — switching your service to a different plan, whether an upgrade or a downgrade — is set up as a new service, and your earned Free Bonus Disk is re-applied on it at provisioning, exactly as with the PM-initiated migrations above. Your bonus is tied to your account, not a single service, so switching plans does not forfeit your earned bonus.

Placement is automatic. Our system keeps services that share the same username on separate machines, so using the same username across your plans is the simplest way to ensure your services land on different hardware.

You can also request a move. Open a ticket and we can reprovision a service onto different hardware — up to once a month, and up to four times a year. We handle the reprovision for you, including moving your data, and your full earned bonus is reapplied on the new server, the same as a fresh provisioning.

A Reprovision you start yourself from the service page resets the bonus the same way: the new account gets the bonus worked out under the current formula, not the bonus the service had before. A bonus that came with a service in an account transfer is not kept.

Capacity policy

We provision new services and migrations onto servers with enough physical capacity to hold your full base plus your earned bonus. If a server has insufficient room, provisioning routes to a different server rather than provisioning under-quota.

Limits

The cap is 300% of your base plan quota. A 1 TB plan can compound to 4 TB total (base + bonus). The cap applies per service.
