Getting Started with the Seedbox Dashboard
Every shared Pulsed Media seedbox and storage box has a web dashboard at https://SERVER/user-USERNAME/, where SERVER is the server name and USERNAME is the service username. Torrents, files, disk and traffic figures, and service restarts all start there. This page covers logging in and the core tabs, then the first things to do after signup.
Logging in
The quickest route is the service page in the client area: Services, then My Services, then the service. Its Login row has an Open seedbox link straight to the dashboard, and the same page shows the username and password. The dashboard, SSH and SFTP all use this service login, which is separate from the billing login. Where do I find my seedbox login details? covers the setup email and SSH keys.
The tabs
The dashboard is a row of tabs along the top. The set is not fixed: Pulsed Media updates the tab list centrally, and tabs for optional apps appear once an app is enabled on the account. The core tabs:
| Tab | What it is for |
|---|---|
| welcome | Bonus disk, disk, traffic and memory gauges, basic usage links, app start buttons, service restarts, configuration backup |
| ruTorrent | The torrent client's web interface, see RuTorrent |
| File manager | Browse, upload, download, rename and move files in the browser |
| Info | Plan resources, service status, memory use, detailed disk usage and quota, referral link |
| wiki | This wiki, inside the dashboard |

Other tabs depend on the account. Where the server has them installed, the welcome tab has start buttons for qBittorrent, Deluge and Rclone, and each gets its own tab once started (reload the dashboard to see it). Installed media stack apps get their own tabs too, a Console tab opens a shell in the browser on servers that support it, and Custom Tabs adds user-defined tabs. The feature list describes each web interface in more depth.
First steps
- Add a torrent. In ruTorrent, add a .torrent file or paste a magnet link. Alternatively, upload .torrent files into the
watchdirectory and they start automatically. - Get the files. Finished downloads land in
~/data/. Fetch them over SFTP with a client such as FileZilla or WinSCP, see Seedbox access via FTP, SSH and SFTP, or straight from the browser through the data directory link on the welcome tab. - Read the gauges. The welcome tab shows disk and traffic use against the plan's limits, and the Info tab has the detailed quota figures. Checking disk usage and Monitoring bandwidth and traffic explain the numbers.
- Restart instead of waiting. If the torrent client stops responding, the welcome tab restarts it, or every service on the account at once. Restarting rTorrent has the details. If the dashboard itself does not load, the service page in the client area has a Restart account button, and Recreate/Rebuild Service rebuilds the account with default settings while keeping the files in
data.
Going further
The media stack adds media servers and download automation in the home directory. The welcome tab's Install Media Stack button runs the installer without SSH; Install Media Stack covers what it sets up and Media Stack Exposed and Protected Status what is reachable from outside. The Panel frame source setting on the welcome tab chooses between the centrally updated tab list and a local copy, see Panel Frame Source.
The dashboard is part of PMSS, the open-source seedbox platform Pulsed Media has built and maintained since 2010, and it ships with every shared Pulsed Media seedbox and storage box plan.
