Apps Tab on PMSS
The Apps tab of the Pulsed Media seedbox panel shows up to 12 apps in your account on one page, each with its live status and the buttons to open, start, stop or restart it. It covers the media stack, the torrent clients, rclone and your account's own web server, so checking or restarting an app takes one click on the panel instead of an SSH session.
The ⚙ Configure tab
Where the panel shows a ⚙ Configure tab, it replaces the Apps tab and is always the last tab on the top bar. Its Apps section is the app list described on this page, with the same groups and buttons, and the address of the old Apps page opens Configure. The other sections hold account settings:
| Section | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Media Stack | What the installer does, each installed app's Protected or Exposed status, and the installer's SSH options. Shown on servers that provide the media stack installer |
| Usage alert email | Opt in to email when traffic reaches 80% of the monthly allowance, disk use reaches 90% of quota, or a monitored media stack service is down |
| Passwords and logins | The Deluge Web UI password and Rotate Deluge password, and which login rclone and qBittorrent use |
| Backup and restore | Download a backup of the rTorrent, ruTorrent, Deluge and qBittorrent configuration and torrent session state, and restore it. Media files are not included |
| HTTPS for your public folder | Request a certificate for your public folder, optionally including your username hostname, which is then listed publicly in Certificate Transparency logs |
| Custom tabs | Your own links on the top tab bar |
| rTorrent custom settings | Extra rTorrent settings, read when rTorrent starts, with the previous version kept for restore |
| Panel | Panel frame source, the shell console, OpenVPN configuration files |
| Find more apps | The wiki guides and the LinuxServer.io list, collapsed; typing in the search box expands them |
Saving custom tabs or rTorrent settings, restoring the previous rTorrent settings and adding the username hostname to the certificate ask for the account password.
What the tab lists
The page is grouped the same way every time:
| Group | Apps | Buttons |
|---|---|---|
| Media Stack | Jellyfin, Sonarr, Radarr, Prowlarr, SABnzbd, Autobrr, Cloudplow (only the ones installed) | Open at any time once installed; Stop and Restart while running; Start when stopped, plus Show log when not running; Secure this app when it has no login |
| Torrent clients | rTorrent + ruTorrent, qBittorrent, Deluge | rTorrent: Open, Stop and Restart while running, Start when stopped. qBittorrent and Deluge: Open, Restart and Turn off while running; Start and Turn off when on but not running; Turn on when off |
| Transfers | rclone | Same as qBittorrent and Deluge |
| Web server | Your account web server | Restart |
qBittorrent, Deluge and rclone appear only on servers that provide them. The web server row always reads Running, because the panel page itself is served by it.
What the status labels mean
- Running — the app's process or session is up.
- Not running — the app should be running and is not. Start brings it back; for a media stack app, Show log opens its log.
- Stopped by you — you stopped a media stack app or rTorrent with Stop. The panel leaves a marker file (
~/.<app>Disable, for example~/.rtorrentDisable), so the app stays stopped and Start all stopped skips it. Press Start on that row to run it again. - Off — qBittorrent, Deluge or rclone is turned off. Turn on starts it.
- No login set — a warning shown next to a media stack app that has no login. Where the row offers Secure this app, use it straight away; Media Stack Exposed and Protected Status explains why.
Restart all my services, at the top of the page, restarts rTorrent, the web server and every torrent client or rclone that is not turned off, and starts media stack apps that are not running. Start all stopped, in the Media Stack group, does only the last part. Both leave alone the apps you stopped or turned off yourself.
Find more apps
Below your own apps, Find more apps lists applications you can set up yourself with rootless Docker, from the LinuxServer.io image catalogue and from the step-by-step guides in Self-Hosted Apps on PMSS. These entries are links to documentation, not install buttons.
A Docker port written as 8080:8080, the form many setup examples use, is published on every address of the server. On a shared server that puts the app on the internet. Publish it as 127.0.0.1:8080:8080 instead and turn on the app's own login, because other accounts on the same server can reach a port on 127.0.0.1.
At Pulsed Media
The Apps tab and the ⚙ Configure tab are part of PMSS, the open-source platform Pulsed Media has developed in-house since 2010. On a panel without the ⚙ Configure tab, the Apps tab shares its controls with the welcome tab, so a stop or restart made on one tab shows on the other. See seedbox plans.
